Last Shelter Survival: Heroes How-to

While scrolling through my Instagram feeds I saw an ad about this free zombie-killing game called Last Shelter Survival (available in iOS and Android), and I instantly installed it. Little did I know that it was more than that, now I’m so engrossed in the game for more or less than 6 months to the point that I’m buying in-app purchases and even have a subscription monthly.

So a little intro, my main base is named **Jenny** (the asterisks are yellow stars in real life, I just cant find the right icon here in WP). Originally, it was ReginaLocksley but I changed it).

[EDIT (January 2019)] I just upgraded to level 21, wherein I think I will stay longer because upgrading is getting expensive, is currently with 1wP (One Wolf Pack) Alliance in State 39. I am State 40-born, but that state is no longer the place to be. The States grow really fast that the latest as of this writing is State 230+ if I’m not mistaken.[/EDIT]

The game is 20% zombie killing, 60% combat/war game, 20% farming. Lets start with the combat.

In every siege (either attacking a zombie or an enemy’s base), you need troops/soldiers, and their leaders are referred to as heroes. Together as a team, they are called armored personnel carrier or APC, an armored vehicle (usually equipped with caterpillar treads) that is used to transport infantry. For them to be stronger, more efficient and effective, your heroes and troops should be matched. Once you are able to mix and match the heroes skills with the troops, there will be more chances of winning the battle/s.

First, know how to position your soldiers. It should be Fighters (1st line) – Vehicles (2nd) – and Shooters. Here’s a simpler explanation why (btw, this came from Exo Chat Forum and was sent by one of the commenters below):

For the heroes, see the table below (listed are the common ones only. If you’re using a smartphone, this post is best viewed in landscape mode):

This list is not done yet. I have friends helping me out collate these info since I haven’t personally gotten all the heroes above.LSS Heroes related page part 2 will include other Orange Heroes along with the purples and some of the blues and greens.

Ciao for now ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Great article, thank you for publishing it. Any thoughts on the other heros? Would it be better to have an u skilled orange hero or a skilled up purpal hero in an Apc with 2 other skilled up orange heros?

    1. Hi! Thanks for dropping by. I’m drafting the part 2 of this write up and hopefully I can post it soon. I’m also basing on the other gamers’ experiences for the other Oranges since my main base is not really getting them that much. Haha!

Hmm.. personally Main and 1st APC have all Oranges. My 3rd has 1 purple and 2 oranges (well, 1 reserved and pending due to ongoing research), my 4th has 2 purples.

Actually, the only difference between Purples and Oranges is the number of Skills. Purples have 6 (2 combats), while Oranges have 8 (3-4 combats).
For me they work the same, they have the same strength when everything has been maxed out. You just need to know where to put them.

For example, NEC-Romancer, who is one of the best purples out there (Socialite is the other). Her 1st combat skill where the range is 3, target is random enemy so you can give her any troops (fighter or vehi). But she works better with Vehicles since that skill is called Poison Gas so it makes sense. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope this somehow helps. Let me know if you have clarifications. I do my best to respond.

      Thanks again! ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. Hi Jenny, thanks for all the great articles.

I have a slightly different question for heroโ€™s and combat power ….

Why am I not able to use my full combat power during battle to defend the city? For example I have an APC with 22K+ troops, but, during battle I think Iโ€™m only getting a 3K worth of troops to battle

        1. Heya Sushi.

By defend you mean you’re the one being attacked? If I remember correctly, there was an update wherein those troops not in any of the APCs are the one who will be on defense first if that happens. I’ll look for that message to and try to get back to ya. ๐Ÿ™‚

Also, make sure that you put in heroes who do battles aka the Oranges and Purples. Blues and Greens dont fight nor defend. They are for development.

      2. but it depends on awaken too u can better have awaken purple than a regular orange. and now with s3 and even s4 it will be harder too make the choice for awaken.

    2. Hello Friends
I need some information. Its urgent. my state is 227 and its a peaceful state. but recently clash of zone start with state 129. they r more strong then us. but problem is one of state 129 member made a account in our state. his base level 5. when we send our all troops to gather resource he attack us. as a result we lost lot of resource and troops. but when we attack him his base nothing can we do ( not zero). he is now a big problem for us. he proved low level base has powerful technique. now how can we kicked him out in our state. Please help me. also their is Migration coming.

      Thanks
      BEST ROCK
      State-227

      1. Hello Best Rock.

Ugh i hate those kind of players. They are called rogues. We had them in 40, because our own president then challenged them to destroy our state (because he thought no one can) so they just took the invitation.

If he managed to set up an account and put them in your state during your SVS with them, thats normal. We have spies all over. He may also have a much bigger base in 129 thats why he already knows what it takes to take on bases in your state.

There is like an understanding within our State that we are not to allow any new applicants to our alliances during SVS, and never discuss strategies in the State Chat ๐Ÿ™‚

When we had the rogues (which was so annoying coz im playing to enjoy the game) we were advised to put on a shield all the time, but its expensive. Well since this is a war game, and I like the idea of zeroing rogues, attack them back. If you’re not yet equipped to do so, your big ones should connive and conquer. This is when your state’s unity will be tested.

Troops and RSS can be replenished at any time so dont worry about it. For now if you can ignore him, do it. Just play and enjoy it. There will just come a time he’ll get tired and leave. ๐Ÿ˜†

      2. Hi Jenny!

Through your posts, I knew that you are using the formation with all Vehicles, and I also saw many players apply the same.
Why you not use the F-V-S formation? What are disadvantages of using it?. Thanks

  2. Hi. Thanks for this, Iโ€™m looking for the best possible combination of heroes.

Quick question, you list โ€œEffective Rangeโ€, what is this showing me, the position of where to put them in the APC?

Iโ€™m assuming that the lower the number should be at the front, while the higher number should be at the back?

    Thanks

    1. Hello James! Hope you had a great Christmas and New year ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Yep, the Effective Range (ER) determines the hero placements in your APC. This is important when it comes to heroes with skill sets that says they can handle any units.

Most of the older States we have battled with during SvS dont know how to arrange their heroes yet. So though theyre Level 25 and all the skills of their heroes are maxed out, they can easily be beaten by a smaller base but properly arranged heroes/troops and better research.

Hero combinations like who goes well with whom is not really necessary. For so long as you know the troops that your hero need to lead, and where to place them, youre good to go ๐Ÿ™‚

For example, Dawn Guardian is so far the best hero out there with an ER of 5 and can handle any units. Automatically he goes in the 3rd spot where the Shooters are. But if you also want to have an all vehicle or all fighter APC, he can still be used in the 3rd APC spot. He is that great. Lol.

So yeah if you put a hero with an ER of 2 (Forsaken hero for example) in the 3rd range, it wouldnt work because they will just hit your own troops in front of them. Same goes when you put Dawn in the 1st spot, his hits will just pass by your enemyโ€™s troops.

Let me know if you need further clarifications. Haha! Im not sure if I explained it that well.

      Thanks for visiting ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

      1. Thanks for that, itโ€™s more or less what I thought. I didnโ€™t know if you put a ER5 hero in the 1st row it wonโ€™t be that effective. I assumed itโ€™ll still hit those 3 enemy rows with the same efficiency. Good to know though.

Iโ€™m aiming to run an all vehicle APC. Question though to you, what would be more effective?

        1-Fighters
        2-Vehicle
        3-Shooters

Or an all vehicle APC with the Vehicle War Room maxed out to the base level? Obviously the war room benefit only works if all troops in an APC are the same.

        1. You’re welcome ๐Ÿ™‚

Putting an ER5 hero in the front row is not totally ineffective. Its just that lets say if the Dawn Guardian is in the 1st line of defense, his hits during battle will be thrown to the back of the enemy’s Shooter line. It can still throw hits to their Shooters but the aim will not be as exact. Its like trying to shoot basketball, but the ball will go over the board. Its hard to explain in writing but its more like the projectile? Lol.

Most of the Class APCs follow the normal F-V-S arrangement. But YES indeed! It is best and recommended to have an all vehicle APC so you can reach the enemy (they also say that it plunders more fuel) and/or go to rallies much faster (cuts the travel time almost in half) if you’re too far away from your alliance’s hive. Usually this is the APC I, but it depends on the player really. We have players who have all their APCs carry vehicles ๐Ÿ™‚ But on the downside, more vehicles, your fuel production will go down as well.

Regarding the War Rooms, yes. The higher the level, the better. Mine is only level 12 though my base is 21 because their uses are only taken advantage of when you have APCs focused with the said troops.

Speaking of building levels, YES, everything inside your City should be aligned with your base level especially your rss tiles. Like if you have 6 fuel tiles and you’re level 21, all of it should be 21 or the production will be less. The only thing that isnt affected are the PowerPlants (which you should make sure to always be full because fuel, wood and iron production depend on electricity), since it is dependent on how much fuel you put in.

I will put up another post but its more like FAQs. I’ll include our exchanges. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks again!

          1. Hello. Good work this text. I made a mistake having super recruitment card and war boss chuck in offer and i clicked on super recruit not on special. Tell me about those s1 heroes are they good better than orange ones or what? And alot of questions i have to ask you

  3. Hi. You seem to be the man in the know.

I have a few hero’s but don’t fully understand the position.

    ER 1
    ER 2
    ER 3
    ER 4
    ER 5
    ER 6

1-3 I guess is the position in my APC. However what about 4-6? Is 6 counting, 3rd place in my APC if the ER is 6. They fire and, 1 over my 3rd apc, 2 over my second APC, 3 over my first APC, 4 over their 1st APC, 5 over their second APC, and then 6 hits their 3rd APC possition? Or have I thought about this all wrong?

    1. Hello Lucy! Glad to see another lady gamer ๐Ÿ™‚

So.. heroes with skills with the below ER..
(btw this is based on experience with the heroes im familiar with. not sure if it varies. LOL)

ER 1-3: can be placed on APC Slot 1 (putting an ER 3 in front can still reach the enemy’s 3rd APC slot)
      ER 3-4: APC slot 2
ER 4 and up: APC slot 3 (putting an ER 4 in slot 3 of your APC can still reach the enemy’s 2nd APC slot)

      You’re doing great! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Jenny – Thank you for this post, it was exceptionally helpful to me (a new player on 230, currently base 16). We are starting our first SvS and I needed to understand how this stuff worked right away!

Your comments and responses to other replies were also very helpful. I look forward to your next post.

    1. Welcome to this addicting game, Huxter! ๐Ÿ™‚
You’re welcome. I’m planning to put up the part 2 but I’m kinda busy with real life. I’ll try my best. Haha.

Well, SvS or Clash of Zones at level 16? I recommend participating in the weekday challenges (gathering, building, etc), then I strongly suggest that you do a 3-day shield during the battle weekend. While shielded, you’re still helping your State by not getting any of your troops killed which in turn gives points to the enemy. Also, continue to do research, especially the Zone Commemoration bracket.

For now just research, research, research. Max out the first 2 levels in the research lab + the Zone Comm.

And yes, separate posts about LSS Clash of Zones and Doomsday are in the works. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for visiting.

      1. Your suggestion to take cover during the LC event is apt! Fortunately the strongest bases are still just 20 (and only 6 or 7 so far). That said, the gap between t6 troops vs t7 is enormous – not to mention the research in between.

As far as research, this is the struggle! It is difficult to pick just one path of research at a time, so I have been doing the (very silly) “get all of them started and then circle back later” thing.

Now, to address your real life comment. This is unacceptable! haha

I’m mostly joking, but we all eagerly await your next post for sure.

        1. Haha glad to know my suggestion helped. It was based from experience. Lol. While theyre fighting you can just watch how they do it so you’ll know when you’re ready.

It is indeed advisable to have t7 first before going to battle. Though I started when I had 3 Orange heroes and T6s. But I made sure first that I had the Basic Military and Improved Medical both maxed out before joining KE. ๐Ÿ™‚ Another tip right there. You can then “circle back later” the APC II research. Haha.:D

Im planning to put up a message board too or an online community so everyone with the same questions can just read as well as post their experiences.

          Have fun! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Hi Jenny, another follow up question, last night I got the Deagon Danny, and was advised by an aliasnce mate to “If youโ€™re going to use him, put Fighter troops in the 3rd line of your APC.” I thought this was odd till rereading this post today. Hahah seems your very popular. Now for my questions. Why would someone not use what seems like a strong hero? Also, I understand the advantage of an all car apc, but what would be the advantage stage of an all fighter apc? Thanks I. Advance for your insight.

    1. Jenny may correct me, but I think I can help you here –

      1. If someone chooses to bench a (strong) hero, it’s likely because they either a) can’t fit them in their APC, b) the hero’s skills aren’t leveled up enough to compete with the one taking its place or c) they are allergic to orange things.

      2. Well, if your heroes suit an all fighter formation, the only other reason (that I know of) is the Dreadnought set bonus. If you have a 6-piece set bonus with the dreadnought, you get huge attacking buffs and a “healing effect” that keeps them alive. This makes the fighter formation pretty difficult to kill (and they are already pretty “tanky”).

      1. These are great insights!! Thank you so much!
I havent done the Dreadnought yet since I’m not so much into upgrading etc because I’m focusing more on research. I need my Zone Comm done. lol.

        Thanks again!

    2. Hello again, E-Kwai.
Haha, if indeed your alliance mate visits this post, thank him for me. ๐Ÿ™‚

Why would someone not use what seems like a strong hero?: it is probably how the players see them perform. I for one dont think that Forsaken is strong enough even if his skills have been maxed out. If you see the skill levels definition percentages (this is what you use the Wisdom Medals for), you’ll know if they’re good or not.

what would be the advantage stage of an all fighter apc? : You can actually have a dedicated APC with your choice of troops, just make sure that the heroes you put in are fit to handle them. Having an all-fighter APC is great for offense, but not really as good for defense. That is why Vehi and Shooters are there to back them up ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope it makes sense? haha.. lemme know if it isnt. Lol.

  6. Kind of related to this topic – can you explain the differences between the skill requirements for combat heroes? โ€œRequirement: When hero is leading any units.โ€ versus โ€œRequirement: Effective when stationed in the barracks.โ€ please?

Iโ€™m assuming that when it says โ€œwhen hero is leading any unitsโ€ is when that particular APC is on the attack, while โ€œEffective when stationed in barracks.โ€ means that the heroโ€™s APC is currently at the base?

Your guide was a huge help in explaining combat ranges, thank you.

    1. Hi Seraphus! ๐Ÿ™‚

โ€œRequirement: Effective when stationed in the barracks.โ€ means that a hero can be used for combat (attack/defense) — usually can be found on the details of Oranges and some Purples.

Lets say that you have put a hero in your APC, the โ€œRequirement: When hero is leading any units.โ€ means that they can handle any troops (Fighters, Vehicles and Shooters) assigned to them in your APC (because there are heroes which have a specific troop that would work well with them).

Thank you! I’m still working on it. ๐Ÿ˜€

  7. You’re is actually the most definitive guide and information ANYONE can find online. Not to mention that you’re info is top-tier helpful. You ought to monetize your personal blog with Google AdSense, you’ll make money in your sleep. Btw, thanks for the info, I’m your unofficial student and have helped/trained most my Alliance off the info here. You’re awesome!

    1. Hello Chizzle!

That’s great to know ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m thinking of that Google Ad sense thing and may probably go for it. But most visitors dont really like ads and it would take the site to load a bit longer. This has also been my personal blog and didnt really expect that my LSS related post would help a lot of player and its really fun though. But I’ll check it out. You may also want to let your State or alliance know about the online community I also set up. it would be awesome to help one another too ๐Ÿ™‚

      Thanks so much again. <3

  8. Hey you seem to have really put some thought into this game and figuring things out. have been playing for a year now and never really looked into position of heros. Any ideas on how to recruit orange hero’s? Or is it just a matter of chance?

    1. Hello Tom!

Oh yeah, this is the only game i liked (well, after Starcraft, Warcraft and Counter Strike) very much so Im really into this. I also learn from the other long time players so sending your kudos to them as well. ๐Ÿ™‚

Im also not really lucky in getting Oranges, sorry. I only got my Season heroes from DD rewards.
However, 3 of them I got from doing the Purple – Normal – Super Recruitment pattern that another player suggested. it worked randomly 3x but you may want to try it. I actually still think it is indeed a matter of chance ๐Ÿ™‚

      Thank you!

  9. Hi Jenny,

I am just starting on hero cooperation, rather new to this game, just one week in. So I only have 2 orange hero so far namely militant and iron guard. I need to upgrade some purple heroes for my second apc so do you have a like a ranking of the best purple heroes?

    1. Hey Jasper!

Hope you’re enjoying the game so far.
You can position Militant in the first row with Fighters, while Iron guard on the 3rd with Shooters.
For Purples, make sure they have the Awaken skill just to know that theyre designed for combat. Right now, the strongest purples are still Necromancer and Socialite. Igniis Fatuus is good too.
      ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. Mi e’ stato ucciso un esercito con due eroi e non posso piu’farlo uscire dalla base. E’possibile farlo risorgere?

    1. Hello Andrea.

Thanks for dropping by. Though I dont really know Italian, I used Google to translate your question.

“An army with two heroes was killed and I can not get him out of the base anymore. Is it possible to resurrect it?”
      – I’m also not sure I understand. What do you mean you cannot get him out of the base anymore? Heroes in APC dont die, but their troops do. Just make more of them ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. Hey Jenny, just getting into this game. Working through the research and building buildings. Level 12 base and trying to keep everything balanced. Two questions for you I’d you have time.
    1. Can you explain classes and advantages of them? Farmer, raider, trader…
    2. I only have one orange hero (militant) and several purple ( courier, boom boy, socialite, watcher, and secret keeper). Looking for suggestions for placing them in my APCs?
I’m sure I have a ton more but that’ll get me headed in the right direction for now. Thank you!

    1. Heya Jeff ๐Ÿ™‚

You’re doing the right thing. Keep it up!

      1. Can you explain classes and advantages of them? Farmer, raider, traderโ€ฆ
Farmers focus mainly on rss production, so most of the time you wont feel that you’re lacking everything you need for research and upgrading in terms of resources. When a base in Farmer class is attacked, only a portion of your rss is taken. Downside, theyre not reliable when attacking other bases because their travel and healing takes more time (but can be made better by boosts and stationing heroes).

Raiders are best for attacking. Healing time is also reduced by 50%, as well as their travel time. They are looters ๐Ÿ˜€ So when youre a raider and you attack a base, you can get more than a million rss or you can zero out the enemy. However, your rss production is like 30% less than normal.

Traders have both features — so this is me. LOL. In terms of rss, i think the production is normal as well as when you attack other bases, probably because I have heroes stationed where needed. You can also buy speed ups, rss, shield etc using the game cash ๐Ÿ™‚ Cons, all your rss that our out can be taken by raiders. Healing time is about 50% less, but assigning the Avenger hero helps big time.

For more details, go in side your City. Tap your base, then the Class icon. Once you see the 3 Classes, you can also tap on the small circles to see their features ๐Ÿ˜‰

      2. I only have one orange hero (militant) and several purple ( courier, boom boy, socialite, watcher, and secret keeper). Looking for suggestions for placing them in my APCs? Iโ€™m sure I have a ton more but thatโ€™ll get me headed in the right direction for now. Thank you!

I have Militant (who leads Fighters) in my 3rd APC. But since its the only Orange you have now, you can put him on your 1st. Preferably, your Class APC must have all Orange heroes but you’re still early on in the game. You’ll get more of them soon. Partner him with Socialite leading vehicles.

      Hope this helps a bit.

  12. Hello dear Jenny,

For more than 3 months I am trying to unlock some heros but I can’t, I didn’t find the way, I have tried from hero’s hall but can’t, when click recruit it comes random the same thing .

    Can you help please ?

    1. Hello there Saber.

I feel you. However, we can only get heroes at a random using the Super, Purple and Normal Recruitment tickets. Unless you’re subscribed to the Heroes plan, where you’ll get to choose an Orange hero by the 30th day. Also, I strongly recommend participating in doomsday (if you already have it in your State). The prizes are amazing, including getting Seasonal hero tickets where you can surely get a strong Orange hero.

  13. OK, I played LSS in S11 for about 9 months before selling my account. I see you are basing you formations heros by their range, but formations are a lot more complex then that ๐Ÿ˜… plus saying that this hero is good for leading this type of troop is completely wrong, that only applies when the hero in question have in his skills a specific type of unit. That said I will try to share some info.

Of course you should take in consideration the heros ER, but their type of skills (pure damage/debuffer/buffer) and specially their 6th and 7th skill are very important when choosing their row and troops.

Example of possibly the best formation of free oranges and why:

    1st row: Arsenal (or Dany)
    2nd row: Forsaken
    3rd row: Shootaman (or Barth)

    Fighters
    Shooters
    Shooters

Arsenal 1st row because his 6th and 7th skill gives Resistance, 1st row will allways take the more damage so allways better to have Resistance or HP their and Fighters, he’s in range with skills at 1st row, plus and very important is 8th skill is a debuffer skill (surpression) which nullifys enemies heros attacks and skills for 1 turn. If you have Dany, he will do even better then Ars at 1st row leading fighters.

Forsaken 2nd row because his 6th and 7th skill gives HP, leading shooters, in this case you might think why HP for Shooters instead of Might because they are at 2nd row and will get the most damage after 1st row and Shooters have a weak defence, he’s is in range of all the skills, he have the highest skill damage % of all the free oranges tho he have the lowest % of using them, he is a great debuffer, silence and weakening effect.

Shoota 3rd row because in this formation we have Resistance, HP and he will bring Might plus he’s a pure damage dealer, no debuffs.

It’s very important to balance formations, don’t put 3 Might heros in the same formation nor use all debuffers in the same formation, balanced formations are key to have a great setup for KE.

    1. Thanks for the wonderful insights, Jou.

As I have mentioned earlier multiple times, I just randomly blogged about the game and didnt really expect it to get any attention. What Ive written is based on my own experience, and what worked for me as well as the other players in the other States I know. Also, since this was written in a spur of the moment, these are all basics and in layman’s terms — this is barely Phase 1. But then again, its my own thing. Its up to the other players who read it if they’ll also use this as their guide.

Btw, this post is mainly just about the ER because if you have played longer, you’ll realize that almost all heroes actually worked the same in terms of skills (provided that its all enabled and maxed out along with the Hero Exp).

You may want to comeback to the game ๐Ÿ˜‰

  14. Hi, i am still wondering abt the different between 3 troops: vehicle, fighter and shooter. I think that shooters >< vehicles. Is that correct?

And i still dont understand why u say that Adande the War Hound is bettter when leads vehicles? What if he leads fighters? Is there anything not good?

    1. Heya Nicky. Thanks for dropping by ๐Ÿ™‚

Actually, the ideal, esp for beginners, is Fighter – Vehi – Shooter. But it would actually depend on your own preference. I have an APC which is only composed of vehicles. ๐Ÿ™‚

Yep! You can definitely use Warhound for fighters! I personally just put him on Vehicles because i think he is more effective based on experience. lol. But you can put any troops for him in either slot 1 or 2 of your APC.

      1. Hi Jennybeans,

Thank you for answer my question.

Maybe my 1st question was not clear enough. I heard that every troops has theirs strong/weak point. And is it true that shooters counter fighters, fighters counter vehicles and vehicles counter shooters?

Now i have lot of orange heroes and I still do not know exactly which hero should be used.

List of heroes i had: The Arsenal, War Hound, Shooter Man, Dawn Guardian, Destroyer, Forsaken One and Reaper. And 2 orange heroes that are not listed in your table above. Those are: Militant, Iron Guard (Shooter) and Razor (Vehicles)

Now, my formation in class APC is: War Hound leads fighter at front, Razor leads Vehicles at middle and Dawn Guardian with shooter at rear. So how do you think about this? Should i let War Hound lead vehicles instead of fighters?

And because my shooters have already upgraded the enhance research. So that I intent to switch War Hound with Iron Guard/ Shooter Man. In that case, Razor will lead Vehicles at front, Dawn at middle, Iron Guard/ Shooter Man at rear, and both of them will lead shooter. So is that more effective than present formation? And if yes, which hero is better: Iron Guard or Shooter Man?

Thank you for taking your time to read my message and hope to see your reply soon.

        1. Hello again, Nicky.

Sorry for the confusion. I’ll see if I can answer this accurately this time. lol.

is it true that shooters counter fighters, fighters counter vehicles and vehicles counter shooters?
          – According to one of the best players in our State…Fighters beat Vehicles. Vehicles beat Shooters. Shooters beat Fighter. But there are tons of variables. Heroes, tech, parts, advanced tower, defensive queue (5th Apc), etc..I never really thought about this because I always depended on the heroes. However, there was a time I did try to battle an APC without any heroes in it. All I know is FIGHTERS are best in offense (thats why they’re in the first line), but not so much in defense. While these traits are vice versa when it comes to SHOOTERS, thats why theyre better positioned in the last line to they can take the blow that the vehicles and fighters cant manage. As for Vehicles, im not sure but based on observation they counter shooters aside from they move faster. I think theyre also 50-50 attack/defense thats why they are preferred in the middle.

War Hound leads fighter at front, Razor leads Vehicles at middle and Dawn Guardian with shooter at rear. So how do you think about this? Should i let War Hound lead vehicles instead of fighters?
Nice set! I just recently got Razor and he’s not lined up in any of my APCs yet. lol. Razor (who i think is actually best when you have an all-vehicle APC) is specifically for Vehicles with ER 4, so let him stay there. His hits will be able to reach the enemy’s 3rd row, same with Dawn Guardian (love this guy, lol). This set up is good ๐Ÿ™‚ You may also want to try and mix it up with the other heroes you have that can do offense to the enemy’s 1st and 2nd row. My class APC has Reaper, Destroya and Shootaman, so they can pass through all the enemy’s troops (aside from the fact they are the Orange heroes that I managed to do the Awaken skills).

Hmm.. I’ll look into Iron Guard, because I dont have him yet and get back to you. But if I have strong orange heroes, I would distribute them evenly on each APCs. Also aside from the effective ranges, check the damage percentage they can do based on their skills ๐Ÿ˜‰

  15. Hello Jenny that your article was very informative keep up the good work girl ๐Ÿ™‚
I have a question, how can you place a hero into the first line with your troops or second and third?
I know its a stupid question but im new to this game.

    1. Hey, thank you! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m trying my best to keep up. lol

That’s ok, Alex. Its not stupid, we’ve all been there. Theyre all in the research lab/institute — the APC related ones. ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. Hi jenny i wanna know jus one thing what is the use of levelling up development heroes aftr we unlock their skills. Fr example if we lvl ul combat heroes we get march space but wt abt development heroes

        1. Hello Manga fan ๐Ÿ˜€

In layman’s terms, developmental heroes take care of everything inside your city. They are utilized by assigning them to their specific tasks/buildings and very useful in making your money and rss production a lot better. For example Pioneer. She is assigned to lead the farm. Increasing her skills also increases food production per hour. The Resistance Leader assigned to lead your banks increases your money production. The Avenger increases your hospital capacity once he’s assigned there, as well as lessen the healing cost and time.

I hope I answered your question.

  16. Hello Jenny
I’m back with a few more questions if you don’t mind.

I’m pretty well caught up with upgrading all my buildings for my level 12 base except for the garrision, tower, and stationing building. These all take extra materials which cost diamonds. Any other way to get these materials? I mine diamonds but man does that take forever with only two APCs. Same with the research, it takes a ton of resources and time. I’ve gotten the first three maxed, working on the APC ones now. I’m guessing there is not an easier way.
Second question, do you or did you spend money on this game. I don’t mind throwing a little cash at it but was wondering where will I get the best bang for my buck. Thanks again, you’re the best!

    1. Heya, Jeff! ๐Ÿ™‚

Nice! Make sure that the important buildings are aligned with your base level, esp your rss. Well except for those you mentioned (garrison, tower, and stationing building). Mine are below level 10 since yeah the other requirements are expensive in terms of diamonds — which is the only way to get those. They also dont do much dent in terms of increasing your base power, so I dont really focus on those.

You’re doing a great job ๐Ÿ™‚ After you’re done with your Class APC research, focus on Basic Military and the medical next. Then Zone Comm (this really, really helps get you ready for svs. Your points are doubled, so are your prizes ;))

Yep, thats why when you’re below level 17 it is recommended to prioritize research first, then upgrading your buildings — these will make your base power higher. There are players who just base their power in cooking up troops, which I dont really recommend because when those troops die in battle, you’re zeroed. So better to concentrate on the foundation of your base first.

I did spend on this game (crazy I know), about $100 or even less because im controlling myself, lol. I puchased the Newbie pack, then subscribed to Arms Supply for about 3-4 months (if you’re into diamonds and rss, this is worth it). Then I got 2 extra construction garages, then some rss packs (1 fuel and 1 iron). I’m still thinking of getting the Heroes Dev plan because a lot of players say that its a lot better than Arms Supply, because heroes matter the most esp when you’re serious in doing battles. But I’m still thinking about it til now. Haha!

Try to participate in the Daily Challenges, too. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      Thank you!

  17. Hi Jenny it’s me Alex again thanks for the reply ๐Ÿ™‚
I have three apc’s now and I wanted to ask you about the heroes.
Since I have two orange heroes i need to invest on my puple ones and my question is: which are the best purple heroes?
You mentioned Necromancer, Igniis Fatuus, Socialite which I have all of them btw but i’m going to unlock my second slot on my third apc thats why I’m asking.

    1. Hello again, Alex. ๐Ÿ™‚

For the orange heroes, develop them all and make sure theyre in your Class APC. If you are to get more and better oranges soon, thats when you can make changes and swap them around.

Yep, for me its Necromancer (i had her lead Vehicles due to her Poison Gas skill) and Socialite (i put her on the 1st line). I had Igniis in another APC. I dont really remember putting them in one barrack because since I think theyre the strongest, their strength should be distributed among the other APCs so I can use them all in battles. But it still depends on you. Its your game ๐Ÿ™‚

Make sure to also max out Basic Military and Medical, then the Zone Comm researches.

      Thanks again for visiting.

  18. Hello, you can get the three purple heros from (drinking buddys) from the zombie event. Someone knows if they are worth it and if the attribute when you got all 3 scales with the level.
Last question to unlock the ultimate skill you need a medaille from the hero but you can only get them from that zombie event how can you do that?

    1. Hi Simon.

Sorry i didnt quite understand the first part ๐Ÿ™

Yes, to unlock hero skills you need wisdom medals. If I’m not mistaken, what we can get from zombies are courage medals, which are different as these are being used for research. To make sure that you get wisdom medals immediately, exchange your duplicate heroes.

Im not sure if I answered your query because i cant fully understand it. But just reply to this if you have more questions.

      Thanks!

  19. Hi Jenny

U are so awesome. Im still new and want to know what are the downsides of migrating to other state in doomsday event. How much will it cost us. Thank you very much.

    1. Hello Ella ๐Ÿ™‚

Why thank you. Haha. Welcome to the game. lol.
Hmm.. i did migrate to State 39 during doomsday but I didnt encounter nor experience anything bad. Probably because the people are so nice and very welcoming. Everyone is helping everybody catch up and theyre active in doomsday as well so my move went smoothly ๐Ÿ™‚
For the cost, i think $5 for the migration ticket if you’re base power is like 3M below.

  20. Is this list what you feel is best from top being the best hero and working down? I’m looking to see which are the best 3 heros for raider class with just vehicles in the class apc then which are the best ones for defense against vehicle stocked apcs.

    1. Sorry for not replying sooner, Bobby.

Nope, its random. For the main APC with all-vehicles? Hmm.. there are S2 and S3 Orange heroes that are specific to lead Vehicles. But if you dont have them yet, max out the level and skills of any orange heroes that are allowed to handle any units. Forsaken, Arsenal or War Hound, and Dawn Guardian work well together. For defense, i think (im not sure) it also depends on the troops. For heroes in defense, you may want to check out one or more of their skills that says resistance. ๐Ÿ™‚

  21. Hi jenny!
1question:If a hero has 2 skills with different range, for example 1 skill is range 2 and the other range 3 or 4,where will i put or assign that hero in the apc?
Thank you in advance and have great day!

    1. Heya Greenie! I wondered about that too. lol.
But watching the attack replays, it seems that the 1st skill is always prioritized or its the first one that is always being used.
So i just dont move them if not really necessary ๐Ÿ™‚

  22. Iยดm level 20 now and i got full orange heroes with almost all awaken and iยดm raider but in our state is peace with every alliance should i change my class?
And with the heroes i have i got alot of s1 and s2 heroes but i got mostly awaken for normal orange should i replace s1 and s2 with them or not?

    1. Heya Fe4rLess.

You can stay as a Raider and take advantage of your class during Clash of Zones ๐Ÿ™‚
S1 and S2 heroes are still good even when not awakened. But its up to you. My Season heroes are in my Class and APC 1. The normal oranges are in my APCs 2 and 3.

Yep its hard to awaken the latest Season heroes because you’ll rarely get their duplicates. So better use what you currently have now.
